Manuscripts

SCUA holds over one hundred manuscript collections, comprising literary papers, local
Lewisburg history, World War II correspondence and scrapbooks, material relating to the Centralia disaster, Bucknell faculty scholarship, and more.

Of particular note are the Irish and English literary manuscript collections that we hold thanks to the generosity of Lafayette Lentz Butler (1887-1975), local bibliophile and friend of Bertrand Library. These include the world's largest collection of manuscript material relating to Oliver St. John Gogarty. These finding aids are linked below.
