University Archives contains the institutional records of Bucknell and offers entry into the rich history of the university since its founding in 1846.
Ranging from the charter that founded the university to electronic posters, photographs, and programs from events held this year, the primary source materials in the collection offer insight and documentation into the decisions and activities that have occurred on campus. Records are held in print, photographic, 3-D, microfilm, media (audio, film, social media), and electronic formats. Topics of study undertaken by students and researchers have included histories of academic departments, historically significant movements, student clubs and organizations, curricular changes during times of war, and much more.

Looking Back/Looking Forward: Celebrating Bucknell University's 175th Anniversary
To celebrate the 175th anniversary of Bucknell University in 2021, Special Collections/University Archives installed three physical exhibits covering the University's history from 1846 through 2021. This timeline is based on these exhibits and presenting an overview of Bucknell University's history from its early development into the twenty-first century.
