History resources to help get you started

Here are some recommended databases.  The entire list of library databases is available via Databases A-Z.

  • WorldCat Library Catalog
Search for books, articles, and more that are held by Bucknell and beyond. Please note that this is not strictly limited to History related material, but all of Bucknell's holdings.
  • Historical Abstracts
Historical Abstracts provides references to material published since 1954 dealing with the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the US and Canada which are covered in America History and Life.)
  • America History and Life
Provides references to articles published since 1964 that deal with the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present.
  • JSTOR
A collection of core journals from various disciplines. Consider limiting your initial search by discipline and be aware that JSTOR often doesn't cover a journal's most recently published issues.
