Data Sources

Finding data files on diseases can be a challenge, depending on the country or region of interest. Data for the United States is usually available, but some diseases have *no* reported cases.

HealthData.gov
Datasets from the U.S. Department of Health, on reported cases.
Data.CDC.gov
The Centers for Disease Control has a "National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System" that reports data on infectious diseases. These datasets are compatible with GIS software!

Check the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, it provides data on over 800 "zoonosis."

WHO Global Health Observatory
The World Health Organization offers *limited* data on some diseases. Coverage is very uneven.
