Skip to Main ContentFeel free to make an appointment to meet with me! There are lots of reasons you might want to do so.
We can...
I didn’t enter librarianship in the traditional way, but looking back, it all makes perfect sense. I found my calling to documentary filmmaking after attending another Small Liberal Arts College (SLAC) and doing a deep dive into visual anthropology. I earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the College of Wooster. Exhilarated by my experience in such a setting, I am a champion of the Liberal Arts and am so happy to be at Bucknell!
After years of documentary filmmaking, primarily for PBS, National Geographic, and Discovery, I discovered my passion for librarianship and scholarly publishing. In short, I help both established and emerging thinkers navigate scholarly communications of all sorts. I aim to help share their high-quality research, publications, projects, interests and, of course, their stories. After years of my own content producing, managing copyright complexities, and Fair Use, I earned my MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh.
I have an open-door policy (well, through my calendar – there are those pesky meeting things…) and I am happy to address your questions about scholarly publishing, alternative publishing, copyright, Fair Use, licensing, open access, digital repositories, plus the Law and Legal Studies Program. I am passionate about IP protection and authors’ rights, and I stay up-to-date in this ever-shifting landscape.
My primary areas of interest these days are the rapidly evolving ecosystem of scholarly communication in an era of technological volatility and change. I am deeply devoted to helping faculty and students navigate the effects, both positive and negative, of AI as it pertains to the scholarly record. Many questions demand attention, and I'm in this with you!
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, reading, floral arranging, traveling, exploring the Lewisburg area, all while visiting Cape Cod and Youngstown, Ohio, where my family is rooted. My two cats and family mean everything to me. I am an avid Steelers fan and lament their current offensive strategy. But I am optimistic—sorry, Eagles Fans. (But do note, I come in peace.)
