New Faculty: Library Resources

Accessing Library Resources

Connecting On Campus

To avoid paywalls, access library resources through the library website. You will be prompted to enter your Bucknell username and password if you are not already logged on to the campus network. Your Bucknell ID is required to borrow physical materials from the library.

Connecting Off Campus

You can access many of the library's services and resources away from the library. In most cases, simply log into myBucknell, open a new tab, and then navigate to the library website.

You may also connect from off campus by using Bucknell’s virtual private network (VPN). Instructions for connecting to the VPN.

Get It (InterLibrary Loan)

Need an article or book we don't have access to? Make a Get It (Interlibrary Loan) request!

Digital requests take an average of 11 hours to fulfill. Books and other physical materials may take longer, as they are mailed to the library.

Building the Collection

Bertrand Library's collections are strengthened by faculty involvement. Faculty are welcome to make purchase requests for books, media, journals, databases, and other resources they think would support teaching, learning, and research at Bucknell.

For book and media requests, please use the InterLibrary Loan Request form. Note: when asked "How should Bertrand Library get this item?" select Purchase.

To make a journal or database request, please use the New Journal or Database Subscription form.

Please contact your Subject Librarian if you have questions about purchase requests.
