Introduction to Digital Identifiers Workshop

An interactive workshop that will introduce ORCID and SciENcv as part of a broader trend of emerging digital identifiers that occur in grant seeking as well as in your scholarship. Presented by OSP & L&IT

How to get your ORCID

If you do not already have an ORCID ID, you can claim one at https://orcid.org/register

We recommend using a personal email when you register.

As part of your registration process, you will select your default privacy preference. You can easily change this by individual item when you are adding publications, work experiences, etc.

Connect to your Institution

Once you have an ORCID ID, we recommend adding your affiliation to Bucknell through your sign-in.

To connect your ID, navigate to https://orcid.org/signin and click on the "Institutional account" tab. Once you select Bucknell University as your home institution and sign in with your ORCID credentials, your ORCID will be linked to Bucknell.

Add a secondary email

You may wish to add either your Bucknell email or a personal email to your ORCID account to make sure you never get locked out.

to do this:

  1. Sign into your account
  2. Go to your account settings and click "edit" next to "Email and notification preferences"
  3. Type the email in the "add another email field"
  4. Verify the email through the message sent to that address
  5. Review the privacy preferences and decide which email(s) you'd like to share or keep private and which you'd like to receive messages from as your primary email.
