Image Resources: Home

Access digital image collections that have been organized according to subject as well as information about how to use images in your work and guidelines for formatting proper image citations.

Using this Guide

The digital image resources that you will find on this guide have been organized according to subject.  Resources that might be useful across disciplines are featured on the page for Interdisiplinary Image Sources and might also be featured on more than one subject-specific page.  The page for Museum and Library Collections and Images Free to Use and Share should likewise be useful for work across disciplines.

Using Images

On this guide, you will find links to digital image collections.  Like all resources, digital images should be used responsibly.  Be sure to comply with copyright law, license agreements, and the Terms and Conditions of Use provided by the databases or websites that you acquire the images from, and always cite your images, just as you would any other source.

If you are searching for images without copyright restrictions, or for images with licenses permitting that they be used and shared, take a look at the page for Finding Images Free to Use and Share. Even if you use the resources provided on this page, it is still important that you read and comply with use restrictions and provide proper citations.

For more information on Bucknell’s copyright policy, see the Citation & Copyright page on this guide.
