Disability Services and Accessibility

Items available for check-out at the Equipment Desk include:

  • Smartphone holders 
  • Audio recorders
  • Microphones
  • Speakers
  • Projectors and screens

To reserve any of these items for pick up, visit the equipment guide (Bucknell login required). If you need other assistive equipment, you can fill out the form in the Feedback tab, or contact the Office of Accessibility Resources.

Available for public use

Items available for public use include:

  • PC and Mac computers (requires BU login)
    • Available on the second floor in the journal collection, throughout the first floor, and on lower level one in the map room, the Digital Video Editing Lab, the GIS Underground, and Computer lab 12.
    • Visitors without a Bucknell login are limited to the computers on the first floor in front of Research Services. A staff member at the Library Services Desk will need to log into these computers for you. The availability of these computers may be limited during busy times of the semester.
  • Text magnifier
    • Available on the first floor in the tech courtyard
      • This shows black and white only, but can invert those colors if desired.
  • Large screens for projection
    • Available on lower level one in the Library Lab and the Warhol group study room.
    • The screens in the Library Lab have Solstice software installed, enabling you to connect to them over wifi. 
    • The screens in the Library Lab also have HDMI cords built in, but if you'd like to use the Warhol room for more privacy, HDMI cords can be borrowed at the Library Services Desk.
  • Microform readers
    • Available in the DVD collection on the first floor
    • For instructions and help with using the microform readers, please ask for assistance at the circulation desk

Software available for download

Software available for download includes:

  • The Bertrand Library has guides for downloading e-reader software for e-books on various devices, as well as suggestions for where to search our e-book collection.
  • L&IT also subscribes to Read&Write, which will read your sceen out loud. This can be added as an extension to Google Chrome to read webpages, or downloaded for use with pdfs and Word documents.
