Can I Eat in the Library?

Eating and drinking in the library is perfectly okay! There’s even a cafe on the first floor for you to buy snacks, coffee, packaged meals, and drinks if you get hungry or thirsty while studying. There are also two vending machines with snacks and sodas in the 24-hour space by the main entrance. We only ask that you take care when eating or drinking around library materials, and clean up after yourself.

However, Special Collections and University Archives does not allow food or drinks. If you have a water bottle, you will be asked to leave it on the floor and not drink inside the reading room. This is because of the fragility and rarity of the items held in the archives. More information on Special Collections and University Archives policies is available on their guide
