Welcome!

This guide is meant to provide answers and guidance on some common questions & tools related to Scholarly Communications.

This guide is designed to change and grow as the scholarly communications ecosystem shifts and changes. Please feel free to reach out to the scholarly communications group: scholarlycommunications@bucknell.edu or contact Dan Heuer rheuer@bucknell.edu directly with any questions or issues. Your individual questions will help us better understand community needs and shape future versions of this tool.

This guide is provided as an educational resource. No part of this guide is meant to provide legal guidance or advice.

We can support you in:

  • Identifying and selecting outlets for publication for your research and measuring the impact of your scholarship.
  • Negotiating with publishers and making your work available through "Green Open Access" and the Bucknell Digital Commons.
  • Identifying and selecting open educational resources (OERs) including open textbooks for your classes.
  • Teaching students in your courses or working with research assistants about issues related to publishing, copyright, creative commons, and other ethical, legal, and social justice aspects of information.
  • Other things (If you're not sure, please ask!)

This guide will continue to evolve based on insight from our campus community. Use the tabbed navigation to explore the various topics within scholarly communications, or email Dan (rheuer@bucknell.edu) or the Scholarly Communications Team (scholarlycommunications@bucknell.edu) for questions or support!
