Scholarly Communication

The ScholComm committee provides Bucknell’s faculty scholars with customized information, education, and guidance as well as the technical resources and support services needed throughout all steps of the scholarly communications process.

Welcome!

Bucknell University employs teacher-scholars deeply invested in the knowledge-building activities of their disciplines. Faculty share their knowledge using emerging and traditional forms of scholarly communication. Each method of communication is supported by Library & IT collaborators with specialized knowledge.

L&IT’s Scholarly Communication Team and Eloise Stevens in their role as Scholarly Communications Officer, provide Bucknell faculty scholars with customized information, education, and guidance as well as the technical resources and support needed throughout all steps of the scholarly communications process.

We can support you in:

  • Identifying and selecting outlets for publication for your research and measuring the impact of your scholarship.
  • Negotiating with publishers and making your work available through "Green Open Access" and the Bucknell Digital Commons.
  • Identifying and selecting open educational resources (OERs) including open textbooks for your classes.
  • Teaching students in your courses or working with research assistants about issues related to publishing, copyright, creative commons, and other ethical, legal, and social justice aspects of information.
  • Other things (If you're not sure, please ask!)

This guide will continue to evolve throughout 2022 based on insight from our campus community. Use the tabbed navigation to explore the various topics within scholarly communications, or email Eloise (tes025@bucknell.edu) or the Scholarly Communications Team (scholarlycommunications@bucknell.edu) for questions or support!
